Introduction to Banbatika
•Banbatika is a well-known park. It is located in Tilottama, Shankarnagar in the Rupandehi district of Lumbini Province. We can simply called it a park where people come to enjoy their holiday and to spend time with their loved ones. If you have your personal vehicle then you can easily get there but if you don’t have one then you can get on the microbus which runs in route no.1 from Golpark to Shankarnagar.
•Maximum people come here to enjoy peace because they work 6 days a week very busily and they get tired. So, on the weekend they come here to enjoy and forget all the tiredness of the past days.
•It is really a peaceful and greenary place which is a little far from the main highway which makes it more attractive point. Banbatika is known as the local peaceful spot for tourists who are nature lovers.
Benefits to the Community
•Banbatika plays a compelling role in the development of the nearby community. As I mentioned above, Banbatika is a greenary place and access to greenary place, which reduces stress, anxiety, and depression.
•Spending time in nature helps to improve our mental health which makes our inner soul and mind relax. It also provides a gathering, events, picnics, celebrations, and parties to the people of the community.
•Banbatika is a greenary place which helps in maintaining the quality of air. Banbatika also provides a safe environment for the children to play and develop their social skills mentally & physically with their peers. It also provides a habitat for wild animals, and birds conserving and protecting biodiversity.
Design & Features
•Simply, Banbatika is a mini forest type area that is divided into different sections like playground area, picnic spot, quiet zone, garden area, zoo site, religious & cultural site, green land, etc. In the playground, there are many swings and slides, a climbing structure for children & one big swing for bigger ones.
•Open grassland is also there, which looks stunning in the spring season. Mainly people choose grassland for picnics & dates. Between the park, there is a big water fountain and mini lotus ponds which makes it more attractive.
•Many varieties of animals, birds, reptiles, and flowers are also there. You can get knowledge about them. You can find so many benches inside the park. Here restroom facility is also conveniently situated.
•Well, there are also many more big shed areas to be protected from the sun and the rain. Pathways are also clean and beside pathways, there are small bushes that make the pathway beautiful. There is a big view tower from which we can see the whole view of Shankarnagar.

•The main attraction of Banbatika is the peaceful environment. Well, all people have their own point of view but in my point of view, people mostly come here to enjoy the peaceful environment and to be close to nature.
•Another main standout feature of Banbatika is the ability to unwind in your own unique style without any disturbances. You must visit this place for your kids to have the best hangout experience!
•There is an old religious temple of Lord Ganesh. Another major attraction is the garden where you can find different varieties of flowers and the zoo where you will see so many kinds of birds, animals & reptiles which is so beneficial for us, we can get more knowledge by seeing it with our real eyes.
Challenges & Community Involvement
•Banbatika is in a spacious area and occupies a large amount of space, which presents challenges for the management team regarding cleaning and maintenance.
•There will be a high risk of vandalism and issues with the parking system, leading to misunderstandings and potential conflicts. It will be difficult to secure enough financial support for improvements and renovations.
•However, if all the residents living near the park participate in clean-up events and park maintenance, it will be easier for the management team. The management team should also organize events or programs to raise funds.
•For the improvement of the park, gathering should be done with the help of locals as guides. In my opinion, collaborating with local businesses and organizations for support and other resources is also required.
Preserving the Park
•Not only the Management team, but as a obedient citizen we should also preserve the park. We shouldn’t let anyone to harm or damage the park’s property.
•Mainly, the management team should make strict rules and regulations for those people who try to harm the park. Waste management should be done properly.
•Regular maintenance should be carried out to ensure safety from electric shock and leakages. Feeding animals should be strictly prohibited.
•Last, but not least, conduct awareness programs about the importance of protecting and conserving parks.
Future Vision
•As we all know, Banbatika is a green park, and we aim to maintain its current state and ensure it remains eco-friendly for future generations. We will increase our efforts to protect and restore natural habitats and build resilience against climate change.
•Designing of parks will be updated in the future to be accessible for everyone, including people with disabilities, and ensure equitable access to green spaces. In the future, we will promote physical and mental well-being through fitness trails, meditation gardens, and spaces for relaxation and recreation.
•The future vision for parks aims to improve sustainability, accessibility, and biodiversity while integrating technology, fostering community engagement, and promoting health and education.
